Happy Mother's Day
This is my mom. Today is her day. I'm happy I was able to zip home and see her (even if it was only for a few hours) this weekend. She is the epitome of the roots and wings theory. Our roots run deep, and yet our wings are open and she encourages us to fly. When I was little, I would lie in bed and think about how old she was at that time, and then I would think "when I am 30, mom will be XX (I'm sure she wouldn't want me to say). From a 6 year old perspective, I couldn't imagine her ever being that old...and I would get nervous that she wouldn't be around when I turned 30 (since 30 to a 6 year old is ANCIENT, so being XX was super ancient), and I would have to get out of bed and run to wherever she was in the house (usually the kitchen) and give her a hug and then run back to bed. She always made me feel safe. She still does.
I LOVE YOU, MOM! Happy Mother's Day.
P.s. I totally owe you an apology from Easter re: our hidden Easter baskets. They were there, and we found them. Thanks!
