Quotes

I like quotes. I have been collecting them for several years. I have a journal where I record the ones that resonate, the ones that make me think, the ones that make me laugh, the ones that make me cry, the ones that increase my faith, the ones that make me feel patriotic, and the ones that seem to define me and shape me in the various stages of my life as I try and figure out my path in this crazy world.

I have been known to scribble them down on whatever is handy, and then tuck them away in a pocket or in my wallet, with the hope that I will get them more permanently recorded in my book before I lose the scraps of paper they are written on. It's been awhile since I've added anything.

At the end of February, my 6 year old niece came to visit for the weekend. She told me, over the phone, that she had something to show me when I got home from work. She was excited about this special surprise. A few minutes after I walked in the door, she had me sit at the computer and then look at a little piece of orange notepad paper. On it, she had written the date (February 26, 2010), and then
love is important it truly is

She's a smart girl, my niece. I can't wait to paste her note in my book. For now, it's still sitting on my desk where I can look at it every day.

Tell the people you love that you love them. Tell them right now!
